Probably. The hull and deck moulds presumably changed hands to different companies. Lydia will know who had these moulds over the build life of the Defiance 30.

curluw is a later version built in coffs harbour likely in vinalester resin . the molds ended up there somewhere.
the second one is built in melbourne by savage , the original designer, he tweaked an S&S design . these boats sail beautifully !

Ok so if I'm following this correctly you are all saying that the defiance is a model made by various manufacturers?

the original boat designed by s&s was defiance the one owned by lydia built out of cold molded timber by doug booker a masterpiece in design and construction . there are several builders of the grp defiance boats these were also designed by s&s but to an altered design to allow for the heavier form of construction they still retain some of the performance of the original optimized ior design a quite good pocket cruiser racer with reasonable performance and surprising amount of interior space
