this looks like a speedball 14 to me its similar to a lazer 2 in size and sail area they are normally setup with a sloop rig and can be sailed by 2 or 1 larger person

Damn that's heavy, should last forever. NS14 or MG rig would make a nice club racer.

Guess by next Jan. when into my 6th decade the inertia borne of mass will assist getting in and out of the thing when on the shallow water on the banks of the mighty Myall at Tea Gardens - out of the water will need to ensure not to bust a gut or worse. For $200 figured it was a bargain, whatever it was, great holiday sailing backup to my Farr727 1/4 tonner sailed on Syd Harbour. I realised last night that the 59" beam notation on one web site was probably incorrectly transcribed from the actual 5'9" of the Speedball 14 so the boat class becomes back to square one as a mystery. Yes NS/MG14 rig is close to what is going onto it based on kit I have accumulated from sailing and windsurfing.... - VJ timber mast (will add spreaders), moth mainsail .6m cut from luff at foot, 16' skiff jib cut down a bit, old style symmetrical mg14 kite but rigged as asymmetric, boom lower part of old epoxy sailboard 2 piece mast, prodder upper part of this mast. rgds Rob

Jethrow - thanks for response, never heard of that Frankenboat thing before but googled it and certainly fits that category eh. Likewise live long and prosper......just realised my maths failed as with big 60 coming up that's the 7th decade. Other "club" nearly in is the "1 boat for every day of the week", also with AHD Freeride 77, kayak and waveski - 2 to go.........Rob
