There used to be a work berth at Gladesville Bridge Marina. I used it many times in the past.

Try the work berth at Woolwich marina.

Depending on your mast height - if you can fit under the Iron Cove Bridge, there's a great pontoon setup just to port as u pass under the bridge. My friend has a mooring in that bay - we've used the pontoon many times for repairs, and painting, with no problems. Don't be tempted by the pontoon before the bridge next to Dawn Fraser Pool - great for pickups and loading, but the locals have been known to call maritime if they see or hear maintenance work happening. No such problem on the other one - it backs onto King Georges Park, and has much better level access anyway.

Have you thought about joining a sailing club? Most clubs will have a wharf where you could do a bit of work. Not only that but its the contacts and friends you make, especially if its your first yacht.
