Hi Guys - Brand new around here and would love some advice from some more experienced in the area than I am !.

Me and a few like minded friends (4) are looking at going 5 ways in a small cruising yacht on Sydney Harbour.

We are after something clean, comfortable, overnight'able that can be handled 1-up. Up to about $50k.

We all have some degree of sailing experience but have never owned.

If anyone has any words of wisdom on the following, id love you hear your thoughts:

1 - Northshore 27 (thoughts ? resale value ?)

2 - Ongoing costs ?? (what should we expect for maintenance, slipping, insurance, moorings etc ?)

3 - Inboard vs Outboard ?

4 - Unforseen scenarios to include in our "agreement" to avoid agruments/disputes

5 - Anything ive overlooked ??

Cheers,
Craig !

Figure 10% per annum for maintenance
The advantage of an outboard (particularly a 4 stroke) is ubiquitous and lower maintenance
The syndicates offered on new boats would have sample contracts.
I have enough trouble making decisions on my own boat, I don't know how five would fare. Without a company to act as the manager/decision-maker I would say you would not be friends when this is over.

Perhaps one of you should buy a Hood 23 for $7,000. and spend $1000 each on new main and jib.

get a mooring first if you are looking at that size. The wait can be a while, depending where you want to moor the boat.
