Hi all,
Sorry it taken me so long to get back to you.
I was holed up in Eden for three days and then two in Refuge Bay. We then arrived in Port Albert where we had a week due to bad weather. We change our plans and continued on overnight passages.
We eventually did six. The last one being Portland Bay to Port Adelaide which was approximately 280 miles in 54 hours.
The trip was planned to take three weeks. We accomplished it in 23 days with the boat unmarked.
Probably due to rough weather we lost our bow thruster. Later our AIS stopped transmitting at 4pm one afternoon. I reset it and it started again. Finally our autopilot stated behaving badly. Again closed it down, and then it started working properly.
Had such a great time. This Moody41 handled 30 knots well. We had 35 knots which fortunately occurred with our main right down.
I really stuck to sailing safely and only choose to go out in forecasted strong winds after having a good appreciation of the boat.
If anyone wants a hand with a delivery on the east coast, please message me or you will find me on Findacrew.
