Hi all, I'm trying to figure out a way to make my fridge work without running the engine as a liveaboard in a marina.

I have 240v onboard and have bought a step down transformer so that the fridge can run off 240, however the cooling water pipe runs off the engine.

I was thinking that I could have a small tank/canister of water for that purpose....would that be a correct way of thinking or would I need a pump to feed the water into the system...

Any other ideas? Or is it just easier to buy a small bar fridge?

Thanks in advance for any help :)

This doesn't make sense. Who would design a refrigeration system that requires the engine to run.
What happens when you run it without the motor does it struggle to get down in temperature.
My fridge has the water cooling in the sink drain through hull and my fridge doesn't work when I am on the hardstand

Maybe one of these from the wreckers earlier on they had a recall it was basically a slight alteration internally as air bubbles could form some thing like that
But a good no moving parts water pump
The motor is fully sealed and has a stainless steel shaft protruding from the injection molded casing internally and the impeller rotates
on seal needed
Below is about the recall

Various marine fridges use the motor to run the compressor.

Could you send some pics, that would help.

A Waeco or ordinary bar fridge might be a simple solution though.
