I am looking to buy a secondhand 30-34 foot cruising yacht in Sydney harbour or Pittwater, with 3-4 other likeminded people. I am interested in purchasing a nicely fitted out yacht for pleasure/social sailing rather than racing. If anyone knows about a syndicate share that is, or will become available let me know. So if there are other likeminded sailors out there, I be interested in hearing back from you. Not interested in commercial equity/syndicate arrangements as these are too expensive.

These do come up quite frequently, just have to keep an eye on boat point/yacht hub etc.

My sister and her partner have just got involved in a very nice boat in pittwater, 4 equal shares, sound like easy going people, I am waiting to hear how they do Chrissy, new year, Easter rosters, but you would, worst case, have 1 year in 4 where you did not get to use the boat at those times.

Don't want to mention any exact details, but I think their share was heavily discounted as the boat will need a new engine soon, at about 6,000 hours.

I have another mate on the harbour and there are 3 of them in a racing boat, again a nice boat and a good idea to defray the costs a bit. They are all pretty keen racers and race together a lot.

Good luck.

Thank you for providing the 2 web sites. I will monitor these for the right opportunity. However, if anyone knows of someone looking to form a syndicate to purchase a second hand yacht, or knows of someone who wants to exit a syndicate, then please let me know also.
