I have a brand new never run Yanmar "2SE" 2cyl 18hp slow revving engine but is 30 to 40 years old. My problem is getting parts for this model as yanmar stopped supporting this model about 15 years ago.
She is a very nice engine, heavy and built to last, slow revving, high torque and turns a big prop. Apparently she will pull harder then a modern high revving engine double the HP.
If someone knows this model and knows where I could parts for it I would much appreciate it. I dont think im going to need anything for a very long time but at some stage in the future I will.

Hi Gary,
Where did you find an brand new Yanmar 2S?!?!?!?!
I've got a 2SX (14HP) in a boat that I'm building & a 2SE I bought from a guy in Sydney for spares. All the side bits are the same (injector pumps, water pump, etc) except the head is different so the injector housings are slightly smaller on the 2SE.
There's a place in Victoria called the wooden boat shop (http://www.woodenboatshop.com.au/site/misc/wbs/downloads/yanmar/quickref/QR%202007.pdf) who still have some existing stock (head gaskets, etc). Other than that, I haven't been able to find anything else (in the two years I've been looking) except Yanmar themselves who will charge an arm & a leg for any remaining stock they have ($1200 for an injector pump!).
Keep an eye out on ebay as these engines pop up from time to time, so maybe do what I did & buy a second engine for parts.
Or upgrade to a newer one...
Cheers,
Duncan.
