hi all anyone in WA have a 30ft bayliner ciera,2003 we have just picked one up and would appreciate any info as we are total greenskins to the boating world and wernt shown a hell of a lot about the boat at purchase. eg switches ligths the almigthy dunny dumping procedures ect, also can anyone give advise as to best location for a 2kva gen set??? id like to put it in the engine bay with a fan for ventilation ????

book a coarse with one of the yacht clubs, you will have to do it some time, best to get it over and done with before you go out on the water and run aground by misreading a navigation mark.

the people you bought it off should have given you far more help. most of the big players offer a day of getting to know your boat with your purchase. talk to them and ask that they give you more information considering you have paid a significant amount of money and being new to the scene also means you probably didnt get the best deal out of them anyway for such things as required holding tanks that will be costly to install if you plan to go to rotto lots. (example)

the gen set should be professionally installed if you want the warranty to be valid

get the RST and required licences.

thanxs for the reply kitecrazy we are getting the skippers ticket, by comparison we got a good deal on the boat but was sold by consigment so we didnt get as much info as we would have liked .not taking her out of the river untill we are truly cumfortable with all her features and saftey knowledge thanx again
