if you have a sailboat with a full keel and a fin keel both the same weight would they both be as stable or would the full keel be more stable because it goes along the boat thanks.
full keels can have less draft and a fin keel may have a deeper draft more agile , where as a full keel might be more forgiving and sail a straighter path
but slower .
Full keel usually are part of the hull and the ballast is glassed inside the hull so it part of the boat where as a fin keel is bolted onto the hull
