I need help on how to remove horrible black mould spots from the non skid texture in the gel coat on the front deck.

It's only in the last 6 to 9 months this has occurred so any advice would be appreciated.

I have tried deck clean products and exit mould with little difference.

scrub off with hard nylon brush , i have used sugar soap in fresh water for inside boat . works a treat .

outside boat .. scrub off with hard nylon brush and salt water . no problem .

you will maybe get a hundred different options here .

i bet they all have one common theme ........ elbow grease ,..... scrubbing!!!!!...... mechanical removal of crap, the best way .

I have used 'Sellys rapid mould killer' in a bathroom cleanup...... WAY better than straight bleach.
With bleach the mould came back after about 6 months, with the Sellys product still no mould after 2 years.

But I have never used it on a boat or fibreglass.

Oxalic acid or "Metal Gleam", local product containing various acids used in the fishing industry. Bunnings for a deck cleaner [house deck kind]. Oxalic acid is generally the way to go. Use it on the whole boat when you slip. In this case scrub with a nylon brush, rise off.

Thanks for all the advice, I added the stiff brush plus effort and success.

I should know at my age that there is not any magic to cleaning a boat other than effort.

Hi...
Me too had cleaned mold using brush and finds it successful. But after some month again it appears and I realized that my effort was total waste. I approached a home improvement agency as my brother told. They done some mold inspection http://www.healthyenvironmental.ca/services/mould-inspection/ , proper removal and remedial steps were taken. Now I am glad to see my mold free home...even after a year.
Hope these will make you think....

I once had mould on a soft pink hairy deck so I used our new gum tease 2000. Gets your mouth washed out in half the time. You just grab it n push it into your mouth. Get it right down to tickle your tonsils like every girl should on hubbys birthday.
Now I am glad to see my mold free home even after a year.

You know what they say, you can take the boat out of the mould, but you can't take the mould out of the boat.

Mould killer by selleys is unbelievable it takes out mould from sails! Leave on for an hour if needed but watch out for beach fatigue if using inside.
