Thanks for the advice with the skeg.Will do exactly what you have suggested.That is a great idea. Do you think the water in the skeg at the moment will effect the skeg in any manner?The skeg is fibreglass.

No, I don't think it will effect it adversely, fiberglass and salt water for the most part get on famously together. I imagine extra weight is the issue and Id be concerned the extra weight could put stress on join between skeg and boat possibly causing damage to that part.

I'm not familiar with the boat tho so you should have a look and see if my comment has any creadability.

I'd just be disappointed if ýour skeg fell off

I have found that the people who are pedantic about punctuation, are so because they do not have the intelligence, to parse out a sentence that does not use punctuation correctly for themselves, so lets everyone try to be nice to the pedants, it is not their fault they were born that way.

Instead of a compressor, which if adjusted wrongly will blow your skeg to buggery, think about using a vacuum cleaner. Those natty little 12V ones sold by Whitworths and some of the 4WD places can blow as well as suck, but can't develop enough pressure to cause damage.

Anyway, no self-respecting house-proud boat-owner should be without one to keep things nice inside.
