hi guys went for a bit of a sail on friday night conditions were less than ideal with a 27kn westerly on the nose and 2.5/3.5 metre sea in bass strait after about 4 hours we came back in and found the volvo 28hp was not pumping any water we had been heeled over a fair bit for quite awhile.
the engine warning buzzer came on so i turned the motor on and off and revved it up a bit after 10 minutes it started pumping again. when the boat is started on the mooring it pumps great very quickly the impelor was new new about 2 months ago any ideas

If the seacock was open while heeled the water may have drained from the cooling system completely. You may need to keep the cock closed when engine not in use.
