I let the wing stay down wind of the board. The foil is up wind and I'll have the tail of the board facing the beach. I'll hold the foil by the fuselage or front wing tip with the up wind hand, mast is in front of me so if a wave takes it, I'm not in the way. I'll hold the board by the handle and pre plan to have wing leash attached to up wind wrist so the leash is over the board helping it to float otherwise I'll hold the wing leash close to the leading edge of the wing. Wings can flip easily in the waves so don't worry about it and just keep moving to get on the beach. Keep in mind to keep wing up wind of board when chilling on the beach cause a heavy gust can flip it onto the wing. I set up a sand bag so it's away from the board.

Correct, two hands on the board and foil. The wing seems to just flip over and keeps going. Also watch for the timing of the waves. I've eaten **** a few times and had the board roll over me so always be ready to get away from the board and save the wing if needed. Boards and foils are pretty durable. Going in to the water foil is in front of me so I can get it in the deep faster and the board flat.

I have seen this looks like a great idea. When I get a specific wingding board I will get it for sure. Might add a bit of drag to a surf foil (minimal I know).
Would make exits less stressful. I grab the foil base now and run up the beach with wing held high Aint that a gay look.

At high-tide we get a nasty little 2ft shorey that is a challenge and a half - add 30-40kn gusts and it's a real nightmare as everything flips around in a split second and just holding onto your gear is a challenge....I think the handle on the bottom of board is the sensible choice until we start riding smaller boards. Smaller board will be easier to handle but will also flip easier in high winds.

Looking forward to seeing someone make it look elegant, I look like drowned mouse on every attempt and seem to just end up dragging the crap up anywhich way I can....

As much as I like this idea and I know it would make life easier, I just can't do it to my board (not yet anyway, maybe after some more wing repairs I might change my mind).

Any of the pro video wing foilers (Jacko, Piros, JB, etc) out there want to make a video so us mortals can get past the drowned mouse look and get to the beach in style?
