That's an interesting way to explicitly advertise a competitors product!!

Lairds a pretty big guy. Nice to see him up and riding what I assume is a standard starboard go foil.

Maybe the foot straps make it easier for a big guy to get going. More power when you pump?

Good to see a practical clip of a bigger rider using a foil set up well, perhaps the foot straps are safer for others in the line up and safer for the rider.

Laird has been playing with foils longer than most, there is only so much pressure you can put on your heels before you fall off.

After being interested on SUP foils then drastically cooling off , this clip has fired some interest again.

This is the first Laird clip I have noticed published since his Total Hip Replacement at the end of April.

Nice work

sheesh- didnt know he had a hip replacement. Do you know if it was because of an accident or just wear and tear from crazy stuff?

The man himself explains it all here.

Both he and his wife had them... must be more common in the states. In the UK unless you have mega-bucks to go private you need to be severely disabled for some time before you get one. If I remember correctly, they seem to have both breezed into hospital one day, no general anaesthetic, and then walked straight afterwards, the same day.
