I already have a 8'10" AllWave. But want to go smaller and keep stability in the windy choppy conditions I Surf in. I've tried boards down to 7'10" but if it gets choppy it's to much work.

I have not had experience on the 8 6 allwave, but have demoed the 8 2 JP Wide Surf. With a mate after trying the Naish Mana, and Starboard Wide.

Matter of fact I just shelled out the 2300 for a new board , took the 8 8 Pro!

Look for my forum "Epiphany". I have a 9 6 allwave and enjoy it lots. Went looking for a performance board and the JP blew my mind! Super stable, good to paddle yet great to throw around! Yet short in length and high on performance.[
Reason I went the 8 8 is just a slight preference for a bit more all round capability and when it gets big to still take it out.

This weekend will be my first tilt on it, watch this space for pics and a review!

82 kg, 175cm 52 YO.
The 8 2 Surf wide body floated me easily and rode a treat. Even in beach slop with cross chop at Inverloch it was super stable.

The 8 8 will be out on Sat in forecast 6-8, hopefully it will perform to expectations.

Watch the space, pics and review will start after I fit the railsaver pro tomorrow.

I had an 8'6 allwave. Board was really fun in smaller weaker surf. Wind swell. Held its speed and was a very stable platform. Ended up selling it and picking up an 8'10 prowave LTD. The allwave was great but when the waves sped up and got more vertical the allwave felt too wide and buoyant. The prowave handles it all from slop to clean. Also the allwave felt a little heavier than i was looking for. The hrs is wicked durable but a tad hefty. Also found that the outer gel/paint coat chipped easy if you hit the rail at all. Not admitting that it was me that hit the rail...but be aware

. BTW i am 6'2 @ 175lbs. Go for the Prowave!

Thanks guys. I typically surf really windy choppy conditions. Trying to find something that is stable but will still perform. Any more input would be great.

Not in your list but I am riding a Quatro 8'6 x 30 128l and it is great, I new it would perform in bigger waves coming from hawaii but it goes really well in junk as well. it is super light, fast and loose...a bit tippy for it volume due to domed deck but once on the wave feels like a short board. I am 82kg 5'10"
