I am looking for some recommendations for a board to take my dog paddling with me. I plan to do river paddling and some small wave surfing. I weigh 80kgs and my dog weighs 28kgs. I am an experienced longboarder but I have limited SUP experience. Thanks in advance.

Which state are you in?
I'll help you pick off a cheap board on the Buy & Sell section. A board near you.

Cheap! But very good. Plenty of 11-12 feet options on here, other than this one.

This one isn't in your area, but how cheap is this for a Jimmy Lewis. 10 plus feet of pure fun!

I think you need 10'8 to 12 feet, in a Longboard styled SUP. Those extra few feet up the front - it's required "real estate" for the dog!

My advice for what it is worth, is contact Hayden at Ocean Addicts at Caloundra, they give great advice and have a range of new and 2nd hand boards. I have purchased 3 from them, two of them 2nd hand, and they are great guys to deal with.

What he said.
When my nalu arrives next week, that will be my third board from them, too. But they are great for advice, demos... Good service, no pressure. Have a chat, they will look after you. Pity for you i bought the big coreban they had listed. I need it for my 28kg mutt... gut.

I take my 25 to 26 kg dog out on my naish mana 10 footer, super stable surfs well and light. Nearly 200 litres so heaps of volume. Combined weight of dog and gumby is 130 kg, no problems for the board.
