So due to a couple of ongoing injuries, my SUPing is at a long-term pause.

I know this post is the antithesis of 'Stand Up' paddling but thought there might be some input from some of the crew with leg/back injuries.

Recently saw some info on a possible option to still get out into the lineup on small days, albeit laying down - called a 'Gut Slider' - designed by Keith Robinson : www.okesurfboards.com/our-boards/gut-sliders/

Anyone got any input on these? The bottom shape looks like it would give a lot better of an experience on a wave than a body board might?

808,as an older surfer in there 70 'S I looked at theses as well for the days I don't paddle any more ,to windy or just to big !and came to the conclusion that they would be heaps of funMy problem is I carnt prone paddle any more ,and I don't think you can use fins with them ?,so I'm currently trying boggers and Matt, but I have to admit I'm very nervous being down in the water ,and not standing above it

Cheers, justaddwater. Agree on the 'being down in the water' - probably non-PC to say, but when I was a kid we called body boards 'shark biscuits'

I think I might give a Gut Slider a go. Yeah from what I understand it's like paddling a prone surfboard (size of a short, wide thruster) so it's all arms. The bottom shape looks like it'd give a decent turn on a wave if weight is shifted well (and I have a lot of it to shift!)
