It seems like a lot of people on here have experience with these kwad models. I have searched and cannot find a lot of info on how these boards work in the smaller stuff. Everyone is talking about how much smaller they can go and how good these boards sound. I have my 8'6 which is a real fun board so I do not need a smaller model. I have an opportunity for a 9'7" at a discounted price so it is making this board look a little sweeter. Basically looking for a little more glide in smaller waves, say in the range of knee high up to chest high.

So how does this specific size work in the smaller mushier stuff. I am 87kgs.

the kwads a great board I've got the 8"7 and love it . It surfs really well in small surf and really shines in junky surf , at your weight I would be chasing a 9"1 personally you will find the next size up a bit of a log , I've ridden the 9"1 and it was stacks of fun so yeah , great board it won't disappoint

Thanks for the feedback. I am looking for something in the 9'6" to 10' range, so I am looking for a bigger board and not a smaller one. I have my 8'6 for that.

Hey Sameh, when you say it is stiffer, I am not looking to shred on this thing, just some smaller turns on smaller mushier surf and to let the wife or friends play on it. Even for me to use in the choppy stuff. Everyone says they are stable and have durable construction which had me really thinking about this one. Is it really that stiff.

I might also have a deal on a stock 9'8" hobie CMLB too. Not the Raw. Again, stable and good construction and not full price. The Jimmy Lewis was just a little more attractive.
