Hey guys,

Looking for recommendations for a new board to surf on. I want a board for small mushy waves up to 4-5 foot waves. I currently surf (beginner to intermidiate) a 7'6" mini mal and have experience surfing a 10' by 32" 155L SUP but moved on to the mini mal because it felt very chunk and was difficult to turn.

Im not looking for a high performance board but definitely something I wont outgrow anytime soon. I was looking at the Sunova Soul 8'11". My current weight is 80kg.

I would appreciate any recommendations or advice. Thanks heaps :) :)

If you can't get a soul ...8.11 ...the 130/8,10 flow is a beauty too ...

I'll throw my 2c worth in mate. Don't rule out a 7'11 evoke from the surfboard warehouse mate. I'm 93kg and been riding one for years. They are 32" wide which makes catching wave easy and also a session still enjoyable on the choppy days, but still turn on a dime too.

If you really don't want the width, check out the vex range which are high performance boards. At your weight you could easily do the 8'6 or even the 8'. Got one of those too and I had it fitted with a foil mount and playing with that now too.

They have a big sale on at the moment which also saves you some $$ before Chrissy!
Good luck mate.

Awesome!! Thanks for the help guys.

How much do the super Franks cost? Looks like a fun board.

Tardy - I think the 4 fin setup on the flow is more appealing anyway.

yt04 - My 10' board was the evoke, I wouldn't mind trying it in the smaller sizes. I'll test one out soon.

I agree with YT04, I went from a 9'6 Vex to a 7'11 evoke and surfing has dramatically improved. I was 80kgs when I got it and it's good fun in any conditions... stable when it's messy, has handled some big stuff when required. Running a quad setup, good luck

Hey PJC71, where are you located
mate? I'm on 4 weeks leave and surf the sunny coast in Qld and happy to meet up and you can have a go of
my 7'11 if you like.
Cheers
