Hi, I'm looking at getting a Naish Nalu 11' GT (6'4 tall and 97kgs), and it seems that these are two different boards, the GT has a square tail, slight point nose and channels on the bottom (?), and the GTW is a rounded tail, round nose and flat bottom. Is there any benefit or reasons for the two slightly different shapes? See the pics attached.

I'd be using this mostly flatwater noosa canals/river and small waves.

I'm your height and weight.. I know both of these boards well and have the 11' Nalu now.. They are very different boards.. The 11' Nalu is an awesome surfing board that will still paddle flat water ok.. The 10'10" Nalu ( with the square tail ) is a great all round flat water paddling board that will still surf a small wave ok.. So.. For your type use I'd be recommending the 10'10" Nalu for sure.. It will float you better.. It will be more stable.. Track better.. and it has tie down points on the deck for carrying stuff.

The new 11'2" Odysseues should also be considered.. I'm concidering getting one..

the mrs bought the 11ft GTW and I think I'll get a dedicated flatwater later. Thanks for all the help.
