Well after many months of waiting and designing, my sample Naish Nalu LE 10' x 28.5" x 4" @130ltrs is here. And it was worth the wait! A lot of different and innovative design has gone into this board from the nose rocker and outline to the rail profiles and tail setup. These boards are expected in stores mid-May. This is essentially the next step up from your Nalu 10'6", with excellent acceleration and top speed blended with a powerful shortboard like performance off the tail and exceptional nose riding ability. This board could become the perfect one board quiver for a lot of riders. Many shops have already pre-ordered boards, so make sure you have your name on one before they sell out (limited numbers in the first shipment).

Here is a quick vid Milhouse took of me out Long Reef this week. The surf was tiny and guttless, but I had a ball on the Nalu LE, and it definitely performed above expectations.

Sure does DJ, I have been surfing it as a quad a lot lately and it is amazing. From all that have tried this board, all I have heard is positive comments, and amazement on it's performance. This board has become my one board quiver.

Just sold my new 2015 JP Surf Pro, so being able to afford it doesn't really come into play. More so whether paying $2500+ for something similar to my 10'6 GT will be worth it or not...
Judging by JB's vid, I'd say yep

Firstly, the board does have a bit of a price tag on it, but it is definitely worth it. Unlike the Hokua LE's of similar volume, the 10' is a little stronger as it has to support the longer board and also nose riding (which creates more stress on the board). At $2,999.00, I think you will find it is in line with where all carbon boards will be for 2016 (with the USD hammering the AUD so much). Remeber this is a Carbon Honeycomb sandwich board.

On the tail, the board is unbelievable for a 10'er (actually even compared to many shortboards). It will feel more lively and looser than the 9'10" however does have a very simlar rocker through the tail to it. The Tail on the Nalu LE is quite wide at the front of the tail pad, the pulls in nicely to a cool looking bat tail. With the fin versatility of 2+1, Thruster or Quad, the board can be tailored to your riding preference. I am currently riding it as a quad with MF-1 fronts and GX trailers and I have had some of the best surf's I have had in a very long time, both off the tail and on the nose.

This board is a freaky beast, and something you will not see on the Naish Website (maybe unless the rest of the world get jealous), it is specifically built for Australia, and filling a performance longboard style gap that I feel is in the market. I honestly believe this will become for a lot of people a one board quiver.

The surf in the video is very small and fat, some of those waves were so gutless you wouldn't get any moves on most boards, but the Nalu LE managed to get heaps of speed and was able to be thrown around like a weapon. From the few that have ridden it, there has been some excellent reviews, and many boards have been put up for sale in anticipation of the Nalu LE's arrival.

I have been trying to get another video happening, but co-ordinating a filmer and waves has proven difficult. Maybe tomorrow.

Greystoke, That is exactly what this is. You must keep in mind, it is a decent step up. 35ltrs less volume, Much lower profile rails and a lot more parallel, so it will feel a little catchy coming off your 10'6" (which you can pretty much turn and surf from anywhere on the board, so forgiving), as foot placement is a little more critical. But performance is off the chart.

1Fox, I do not think you will see this model in EU. It will not be on the website and is not available for order for other countries at this point from my knowledge. But maybe if enough interest and demand it may happen.

BSpot, No you can not sail this model. This would have required even further reinforcements adding weight. Plus the board is pretty small, and adding the odd 10-15kg of a rig would probably push it over the top for stability. The 10'6" GT is still the best wind SUP around.

We expect the first shipment to be here mid-May - June.

i have a nalu 10 6 gt but never knew it could be used as a wind sup my dealer said it was an a air vent screw to release pressure when hot are you sure it can be used as a wind sup ???

If it's just a hole it's a mast base screw hole..

If it's got a metal vent screw plug in it it's a vent screw hole..

This is the 10'6" Nalu GT.. It had two holes.. One was a vent screw and one was a mast base hole..

I currently have a Laird 9'6 surfer As my "longboard style" SUP. I'd be really keen to hear how the Nalu LE compares to it. I'm a bit loathe to go longer than 9'6, but given the width and vol of both are similar, I think they might perform about the same. keen on something lighter than the LAIRD. These Nalu's will arrive on NZ shores by mid June, so I better start saving !!!

That's odd because the GT boards here have the mast base hole and three fins.

The GS boards here don't have the mast base hole and only one fin.

Do you have a picture of it?
