Hi there,
I'm looking for feedback regarding quality of JP boards. I hear many good things about the Surf Wide boards regarding performance in the conditions where I live, but a guy told me that he had issues with delamination of two of his boards (he's got the AST version). Did any of you JP owners experience similar issues? Are the Wood edition boards of better quality or just lighter than AST boards?
Thanks!

I would try to know more about him:
- Some people call "delamination" what is just pressure dents showing under the heels, that are harmless, and normal if you knee paddle, for instance
- Did he left the boards under the sun?

Good question, I don't know. I only know that he got a new board after he discovered the delamination for the first time (warranty).

Got a JP widebody wood version about five years ago....not a problem with it at all. The paint is maybe a tad fragile but otherwise good quality imho. Great board

I've had 3 JP Pros with no issues. Delams can occur to any brand for valid reasons or for no apparent reason.

Thanks guys! That sounds good.

Are the AST versions stronger than the wood versions? From their website one can see that the AST have more glass layers, so I would expect that.

I've had 2 JP Pro's in the S Glass construction and they are some of the best I've ever owned.

Had a Fusion in wood for a couple of years - great board and very sturdy, but agree the paint wasn't very durable (compared to other boards I've owned)
