A first video of the Red Paddle 9'2" Surfstar performing well in mushy waves.

The stiff board (25psi and two lateral battens) make the board pounding like a hard SUP on the water while riding down the wave.
A bit higher rocker would help - now you need to take your surf stand quickly. On the other hand a flatter scoop is beneficial for paddling out.
Turning on the pin-tail seems going fine.

Looks like he is struggling to create any drive out of that board !

In small mushy wave most boards don't perform great.
The other surfers hardly get on their boards and even then they don't get speedy.
The conditions were minimal but he had fun on his inflatable board - that's what it's all about.

I think that the problem with all inflatable boards is that they flex when you try to drive them down the line making them unsuitable for surfing, the same would be if you were to do a hard bottom turn, the board would flex and "plow" the water and you would loose all your drive.

I think that inflatables are fine for cruising / pottering around but no good for surf
