With regards to the fit of the 2014 All Star I should have been a bit more specific. Due to being independent I can only review what I have access to. The All Star model in question is the 2014 Starboard All Star 14 x 28 (not the Ace). The issue with the fit is that it requires a fair amount of wriggling, adjustment, more wriggling then some coercion to to make the tail fit. This then puts pressure on the surrounding material and zips.

What I am trying to avoid is having people purchase something that is supposed to fit but doesn't. Yes the board or paddle may go in after 5 - 10 minutes of wriggling but what is that doing to the life expectancy of the material and zips around the trouble area. When I am handing over $200-$300 dollars I want something that is going to last a couple of years or longer. I am sure that I am not the only one.

The big reason that I decided to start doing these reviews was for that reason. I had purchased a paddle bag that I was told by the retailer would "fit all and any paddle." In the end it did, but not before a fair amount of wriggling, pushing and thrusting. Small issue but the bag is now compromised and wearing well before it's time.

I hope this clears up what I mean by it not fitting. As I get more access to other boards I will be revisiting this bag. I am in the process of producing some quick reference guides that will live on the blog for future reference that will include what boards were tested in what bag. I will also clarify the exact model on the review in the coming days.

Friend of mine has a 2014 alstar and it fits. Think you need to located the nose in the center, put the fin in the slot then the sides around the tail should lift up and zip up. Firm fit but fits. Think his is a 14 x 26.5? I will confirm the width. I have a 2014 sprint and they are quite wide in the tail also and I use the same technique and it fits.

Can you confirm the dimensions of both of the boards please Scotty Mac?

My sprint is 14 x 24 and I have an ace 14 x 25. My friends all star is 14 x 26.5 and all are 2014 and fit in the FO board bag.

Hi all,

Managed to get some time alone with a Fanatic Flatwater 14 x 26 today and threw it into the Flying Objects Travel Cover SUP Race cover. Fits very well, which was a bit of a surprise for all in the vicinity.

I will add it to the list of boards that fit on the website also.

I bought one for my 2014 Glide GS the other week - a lot of the decision had to do with your review as well SUPing Caveman!!!

Yep, it does fit a Glide. It's snug around the extremities of the bow and stern but I see that as a plus as it stops the bag flapping around. The compression straps then cinch the whole lot up snug as a bug.

If you've got the GS you'll appreciate all the extra handles that the bag features as well, they certainly make shifting it around a lot easier. If I had one complaint/suggestion it would be to include a central handle on both sides - bottom and top of the board - to make putting it on the roof racks a little bit easier.

Hi all just wondering if there is now a definitive YES or NO as to wether the All Star 14x28(2014 model) will fit in this bag. If not can anyone give recommendations for another bag please? I have an interstate move coming up and don't want the clumsy removalists to ding my new toy.

Only just! You have to pull the cover on that tight you think you are going to rip it. I've received a touch of damage to the nose where the zip goes over as well. Have to push it down as far as possible. The rear corners are the hardest to get in. I've had two covers and they were both the same.
Watch the handle on the end as well, ripped one straight off that had a bit of salt water on it and was out in the sun after one session. Stitching remained, strap literally tore in half in 2 spots.

This is spot on. I am about to update the review with some photos showing the exact info that Danny references. This is why I mentioned that it does not fit. If you purchased shoes like that you would say that they didn' fit, that is what I am basing my review on.

With regards to other bags you may want to look at the Pro Limit bag. My Dad has one and it fits his 2012 Starboard Open Ocean in it easily. I know the 14 x 28 Allstar has a big booty, bigger than the Open Ocean, but it might be worth checking out.

Thanks guys for the info. I spoke to my local SUP school and according to them the Flying Objects bag now comes in a newer version which apparently fits the AllStar 14x28 better. Have you guys heard about a version 2 of this bag?

But they didn't have any in stock and I need a bag in a hurry, so I ended up getting the Prolimit EVO Race bag which just arrived today. The AllStar slid in very easily with paddle & leash and had plenty of extra wiggle room. Seems like a good choice so far.

Great to hear about the Prolimit bag Dave. I have seen the new bags but only in 12'6", once a 14 arrives locally I will give it the treatment. All I noticed was the new colour and prior to Christmas there wasn't any info online either.
