Just got a Whopper for my summer board and I love it. I paddle flat water on it too and its a bit slow but still feels great however, being so wide you can just relax and paddle. Anyway we all say we will do flatwater and surf, but once you find your feet you want to surf as much as possible and unless your racing you just want to feel comfortable paddling. Put a 7" or 8" fin in the centre for surfing and it turns really well. You have to surf it like a mal and use your feet alot but its lots of fun. Also 10' is a bit easier to transport and store than 11'2".
good call i haven't tried a larger middle fin but have been wondering....will check it out.
