I'm looking at the 2018 starboard 8,5 x29 112

But I see the older 2015 was a very nice board and from all accounts the same litres just a fuller nice etc making it slightly more useable in chop Vs the new 2018 version

I'm on the limit at 90kg dry for the 2018 8,5 I think

I wouldn't say the 2015 version is that more stable than 2018 8'5 and the 2018 version is a very very good board - the 'diamond' in the tail shape gives great flow - I'd get the 2018 as shape is so good, 90kgs is ok - I'm 97 and is all good.

97kg crikey that's a big call for a board that has a max of 90 in most conditions

Volume is very subjective. Im 96kg, my daily is a fanatic prowave at 104L and also use a naish at 97 or jp pro at 90. Whilst im at one end of the spectrum, my point is don't rule sizes out until you've given it a decent go

What Matt said - volume is a guide ..but not the whole story
