Hi John I have ridden both boards in all conditions and as soon as you say all round the fusion wins as the widepoint lacks glide, both are great boards

OK thanks - I am a 66kg beginner and I have ridden a 8'2" x 32" board that was OK but I want a bigger more stable all round board that I can get some waves on as well, - anyway I have just bought (got a good deal) a 9'8" fusion (they say that "they love the waves") so I will soon find out., I feel that in the future I may want to progress to the 8' 10" widepoint possibly (for the smaller physical size and also for the wave riding factor) any thoughts would be greatly appreciated, - also there appears not too be much concave / vee in the fusion (by just looking at it :-)

Thanks Skiman123, Shiresup, & Slam - I know I will want to change boards in the future - it depends on how well I progress. Also any thoughts on why the bottom of the board is a matt finish? does it reduce friction or perhaps increases it ?:-)

At 66kg you are a super light weight , always try before you buy but have a look at the JP 8-5 x 30 might seem small but it still has plenty of foam
