Did not realise the jp had a big decal vs painted on some there sups seems a bit cheap end .
A large sticker clear coated over the top I was wondering why I was getting patches in the finish on the top then I looked harder and realised I must be rubbing the top of the board putting it in and out of the car and this rubbing is removing clear coat
Expected a little more from jp
Or at least a harder finish but I see fanatic have this issue also but it's a great board and surfs sooo well

I have a JP (Fusion). Yeah the paint's 'delicate' compared to other boards I've owned but the construction is otherwise pretty robust. And I like how it surfs.

Not really an issue for me as its such a tough little board and just keeps on going regardless of a few scratches and chips. I have had my JP WB AST for 2 years and still going strong after lots of use. Shredded deck pad replaced last weekend. Its such a nice board if I broke it I would just buy another one probably a Pro.

Only gloss coat on jp pro's is on the rails the rest is matte finish super solid build. Had the wood gloss previously on the widebody had no dramas but did get a airbubble under the sticker on a 8'6 surf.

Yes, most of clear coats are very ... subtle.

Our long experience working with glues and testing lots of stuff proved it. In fact we always recommend to use heat (hairdryer or heathen) to remove RSPro rail protection (or anything with glue), because most of the clear coats are very poor. Ans it's not a question of low end boards. Both low end and top end boards have poor clear coats. Low end for cost, top end for weight.
