Im new to SUPs and am considering a board from a company called mongoboards, does anyone know this company or have any experience with their boards. They have a website, but they seem to be so new that their e-bay sales total zero so their is no positive or negative feedback.

Never heard of them. There are stacks of reputable brands and boards out there that are cheap and good quality and you should have no trouble getting information and feedback on them. IMO - if you are gunna buy boards off ebay then buy quality brand names (the big names) and check them out first before buying - DO NOT buy new boards that nobody has heard of because there is a reason why nobody has heard of them and in most cases you will be buying sh#t that is poor quality and will not last and will not perform and will be worth nothing when you try to sell it in 3 months. If these boards were any good then all the good retailers would be stocking them because good boards make retailers money - so there is a reason you don't see them in shops.

AND I think the name may say it all in this case.

Look quite pretty & certainly not expensive.

Their paddle length advice is a little spooky..."should be at arms length above your head without stretching" ?????

Not sure if you have purchased your SUP yet but I noticed this forum when I did a search for the MongoBoards website. The owners of mongoboards are Mick and Alice, who live up here in Cairns but operate their business from a warehouse in Sydney. You can contact them on 0450 080566 or 0402 584557, or visit the website. I know them both (and their young son) through a mutual friend and I can vouch for their integrity as people you can trust. I know zip about SUP's, my forte is IT and I have repaired laptops for Mick and his friends on several ocassions. I also do web development and he asked me to check his newly made website - hence the finding of this forum. Mick is a sturdy type of bloke with a no-nonsense attitude, so I doubt he would deal with inferior products. Hope this helps.

if that was the case there would be many of us out there that wouldnt be able to do sup as the paddle blanks would not be long enough before cutting!
