My Naish 9'3 has heaps of rocker, and is best when I keep it turning rather than straight line trim speed. Flatter boards are faster in a straight line. My first board was a 10' Laird which had really straight rocker. It wasn't suited to my preference for turning rather than trimming. Plus, my home beachbreak tends to be sucky and short, which again favours lots of rocker.
But, longboarding has taught us that you can make a highly rockered board trim fast and carve fast- quick footwork works wonders.

Whilst the rocker may not be designed for max speed it does make surfing easy and forgivable, it lets you take waves later with ease and it was surprising how well the board surfed in a steep wave ... I guess it is a trade off...
The flater rocker definetly lets the board glide more paddling for waves , as boards get smaller they generally soften the rocker , if you look at the Naish Hokua performance range you will see the change , the Mana is more for the masses and is a very easy board to ride and that's how is was designed.
So to answer question no not all Naish's are like that. Check out the new 9-0 Hokua great looking stick and you will see the obvious difference.
