Fellow SUPers.

What do think would be a better all round SUP board. The Coreban ICON or the Oxbow Scout 10'4.

I'm new to the sport and have tried the scout and a few others however i see that the ICON may be a better surfer than the Scout. I'm pretty open to suggestions. I'm likely to do about 50% crusing and 50% surfing.
I weigh around 94 kgs if this helps.

Cheers,
Pulv

If you can afford the icon then I would go that way without doubt. The coreban is a fantastic board and will suit your requirements to a tee. Have you tried both boards ?

As for waterhorses post - fully agree. If its really a 50/50 mix you want then the starboard 10.5 drive is a better board than both the oxbow and coreban.

My Starboard 10'5" Wide Point surfs like a 9' board and glides/paddles very well with my 100+kgs on it. Love everything about this board! Put it on your demo list.

For me the Icon is a keeper.

I wasted my time and money trying to start with a board that dose it all.

You could start with something like the Icon that surfs really well and paddles ok, and pick up a distance or DW board later.

It's not a waste of money and time though if the board actually does in fact do it all, and in my opinion (for whats its worth) the starby will do it all without having to go to the expense of buying a second board later.

HI.the 10.5widepoint is going to be a best seller in the starboard stable out doing the element/drive/whopper. it has well hidden volume and can rip.

Thanks to all of your responses
I haven't tried the Star board but it sounds like a goer. I'll keep my eyes out for a demo on one.
I ended up deciding on the ICON and have in the garage waiting for it's first outing.
Here's hoping there's a bit of swell and sun tomorrow.

In the end the quaility of the ICON was hard to pass up.
