? are you a robot or a noob to both sup surfing and seabreeze forum?
If the later, welcome.
Friendly warning. THere are not a lot of places to surf sup in Perth, AND there are a lot of people that surf, sup surf, and do a lot of other water sports in beaches.
DONT just grab ur new sup and paddle out on ur knees straight into a busy surf break.
Do your internet research on how to be respectful of lineups, how to catch a wave and how to even paddle a board.
Practice on flat water first preferably in quiet locations.
Learn to fall, biggest thing i see is people falling kick their board away. if you are in a busy surf area you do not want to do this or you will hurt someone.
Learn the rules of right of way, dropping in and snaking.
Watch. watch surfers, suppers and how the waves and breaks work.
Drive along our beautiful coast and you will see where others do it.
enjoy, be friendly, say hi, prepare for evil glares from some. there are breaks where everyone is friendly, there are breaks where SUP is frowned upon (or anything different for that matter).
I generally find best way to get into a spot is paddle up, and then sit down with the other surfers and say gday.
good luck.
