The 11'2 SB has developed a 100mm x 50mm delamination on the hull, no obvious signs as to the cause, board spends it's life in doors and rarely any longer than 10 mins on the roof of the car or laying on the beach. What's the consensus on dealing with it, have it fixed now or leave it and see if it gets worse?

Hi Cranky,
You may get really cranky if you leave it!
I would get it stuck down asap.
Its easy to do yourself, if you can get a small amount of epoxy & a horse syringe.
Cover the delam & surround with masking tape to stop ejected resin sticking to board.
Drill 2 small holes, 1mm or so in the skin at opposite ends of the blister & inject resin the massage it around the delam, the second hole is to allow air & excess resin out.
Cover with a thick fabric & a weight to hold down, sand in a plastic bag can work well, depends how much force is needed.
Cheers

Take it up to Bruce.

I dont have any idea how the board is made but, its obviously caused by air pressue being lower outside the board.
An area of poor lamination between skin & foam, then air from the eps has made a blister.
EPS is mostly air, so even changes in atmospheric pressure will cause a differential in & out. A low pressure weather system over the area or going from sea level to a higher altitude.
Is there a bung/vent in the board? Again easy to fit one, just a small stainless self tapper with an O ring under the head will do.
Or a bush mechanic would use a 2" nail to belt a hole in the tail near the leggy plug then put a small bit of duct tape over it
Cheers
ps one thing I would check......the blister looks like it is in the center of the bottom?
Support the nose & tail then put weight on the deck to make the board flex, at the same time check the blister, it could be the start of a crease?
