Haven't heard much talk about the 12 towers race on the GC in 3 weeks time?
Who's going? New BOP event also surely this will be a great spectacle to compete or sit back and watch the carnage unfold!

Question about the DW race? I'm confident with the down winding part but have bugger all experience with coming in through the surf to finish as mine always finish in the flat calm waters.. What's the advice if there are some bomb sets coming in??

Looking forward to this one myself. If bommie sets come through just jump on one for the ride of your life , LOL.Seriousley just don't get tempted to paddle in between sets or in a lul.Just wait out the back for a bommie and then catch it all the way in , if you can.You don't want to paddle into the impact zone flat flooted so to speak.

We love the 12 towers event its a highlight on our calenders. As teatrea pointed out wait for the bomb set and catch the biggest oneJust think of it like catching one of those runners during your DW journeybut its just a little more intense

If the event organisers could set up a coffee machine on the beach front this would complete our day,yes we I talk about are a bunch of longboards who support this epic event for one reason only,THE CARNAGE at the finish lineGood luck paddle hard, its only water it wont hurt much

my take on it. catch a later wave of a set. the earlier waves fill up the shallows with water making your ride easier. that's the theory anyway haha

Lacey have you not learnt anything from longboard school, bloody hell, you'll need to spend more time at the pointy end of the classroom.

Cheers that's what I had in my mind watch a set go through and catch a later one so when I spear off I hopefully have time to recover and get in before being hammered again and again and again..
