quick question - is it worth trying one of my 17" twinnie wave board (w/surfing) fins as the centre fin in my 9'8" as well as something smaller than the M5 fcs plastics in the side?
want to loosen it up a bit - or is the tail just too wide on these motherships to go too small

Hey Russh,
I put a 11" cut away in Ty's 9 8 with out side fins and it felt looser.
Not sure about 17 tho.
If your in Robe at Easter you can put the 11" on your board and see how she goes.

hey, im on the 9 footer and i've had the 9 8 element as well and the best set up was a 6.5 inch future cutaway and m5 side...

I would suggest going bigger in the side and smaller on the centre, ideally you should try all 3 fins to be the same size. Alternatively, try to move the center fin as forward as possible. Three ~11cm deep fins is a good starting point.

it's worth trying sunnies or shaper's s9's, probably the shapers s9

Thanks for the ideas - sorry I meant 17cm fin from my twinnie -
have centre as far forward as I can and still feels a little sluggish cutting back and off the bottom - must say the waves I've had lately have been pretty ordinary - its got a 20cm Drake windsurf fin that came with the board - just doesn't feel right
Laceys Lane - looked for the s9's cant find them on the shapers web site or FCS
Can you buy the US box / FCS converter in Aus - maybe I should use my Merrick Biscuit fins in the SUP.
