Well I used to think that 42 was the answer to life the universe and everything.
This morning I found out that the magic number is 29+.
No I am not on drugs, well not enough anyway.
I went surfing with Rich early this morning at signies.
Just for a laugh he and i swapped boards his a psh 9'6 wide mine a 10'6 wide.
I thought with 105kg and 6ft that it was a dream, well maybe not.
I was able to stand on the 9'6 wide without too many problems and it actually paddles faster than the 10'6 wide for me go figure??? I did however need to paddle all the time to keep forward momentum up.
Goes to show that you have to try everything before for you rule it out.
Whilst I didnt catch any waves on the board due to conditions, It was definitely possible in clean surf.
The thing I have learned about SUP having tried so many is, its not about the lenght its all about width which for me is 29+ and enough volume to float your weight. Then the sky is the limit.
