Hi Guys, new to this forum. I am currently riding a Fanatic Fly 11'6 x 33 and have been for last 3 or so months, looking at down sizing to something in the 9 foot range?? I weigh about 95kgs. Looking for something with a bit more maneuverability for the small to mid size waves with out losing too much stability. The Fanatic Fly is a great board to learn on, but is just too big now as i am looking to advance on the waves. Any recommendations or comments are much appreciated.

Anything down to 9' in length will serve you well to get going in the waves, watch the volume of the board, a 9' board can have as little as 112litres where as my Coreban 9'x29" has 140.
So, anything 9-10 feet with as much width as possible, I recommend 32" as it'll be more stable and make sure it has plenty of volume, 140litres plus. I wouldn't get too hung up on fin configuration or tail shapes until you start to get the feel of the board on the waves then at that point you'll upgrade again.
I'm 5'9" and 83kg, my first wave board was a 10x32 160ltr all rounder and it rides +head height surf great. You don't need to spend a fortune.
