anyone think 2nd hand board prices are a tad high when you get can a new board and paddle for 800 bucks. (im talking for someone that just wants to cruise flatwater and maybe some small surf). Anyway if any one has a board for sale around 600 mark let me know

if you don't mind buying a no name board of dubious quality- go for it.

however a lot of people have been burnt and resale on a no name dubious quality board would be nicks.

it's like buying a $30 cordless drill from bunnings and expecting it to do a decent job and last.

imo secondhand board prices are very poor considering what you pay for them.

shortboards are the worst. most shops are asking for up to $900 now. two weeks later and you have to beg to get $250 as a trade in

Look at it from the other end, buy a decent brand and when it's time to upgrade you won't lose much money.

There are all sorts of price points on the market, whole some are better value than others in general you get what you pay for.

In my understanding you get what you pay for!! I sell brand new boards for $599! are they as good as a $1500 board? the answer is No Will they do the job for some people? Yes !! If you want stuff like a good race board then spend the extra and if you want a board to to surf really well then spend the extra!! if you just want a bash around board or something Cheap to get into the sport then buy a cheap board or pay a bit more and buy a good brand 2nd hand board!
