I had not been in the water since saturday, so when I finished work at 12 .30 I headed straight for the beach on the way there I could see how strong the wind was blowing cross offshore but I had to get wet, normally there is no way i would go out in wind that strong

When I got there i was quite suprised that It actually looked surfable about 2ft with the odd 3footer and a nice little right hander, but really windy! I got out really easy nearly getting blown out to sea

the hard part was turning around and paddling for a wave, somehow when I first got out i snagged a set wave a great little right hander that the 9 6" carved on, the best wave I had caught on it yet and milked it all the way to the beach, I was stoked and even though I had only been out for 15 minutes considered going in on a good note

I caught another 2 waves after that as the wind progressively got stronger to the point it was actually blowing me straight off my board. I started cursing and hating wind and getting really pi**ed off i got blown off about 10 times with mad side chop waves to top it off, I thought to myself i dont think it would be any easier on the 11 6" kalama this is really strong wind, I just got home and checked the wind on the net 48kmh with 64kmh gusts

Any wonder i could hardly stand on the 9 6" but yet in those shocking conditions i managed to bring a smile to my face on that first peaky wave I caught, i should have come straight in and finished on a good note
