well, i guess the starboard shapes generally don't suit my way of surfing as i surf the shortboard style of board and haven't been really fussed on them . anyway i got a look at this board and was interested, so i teamed up with scotty at mermaid and had a surf. after a few waves on my dc8'8 we swapped over. the board is a lot more stable then what i'm used to, however this sb gave me some feedback under my feet which i really liked compared to the other sb's i've tried. the board also seemed a fair amount lighter. it also had a nice rocker as i find the 8'5 and 7'11 are a bit over the top and are really hard too get going imo. this will catch just about anything- honestly. i find with the starboard range i generally have to surf flatter and the same still applies here. but the board goes very well and easily the best i've tried- its got some zip about this one.will i race out and get one -no, but i could surf this board with a few adjustments and some time, surf it well.this is probably not toeing the" party line", but it's my take. i feel if you are a sb fan and looking for a bit more edge- check this board out
cheers

i forgot to mention, the widest point of this board is behind the centre of the lenght of the board. this is something a little different for sb and i think worth mentioning here
cheers
