Has anyone tried these? any opinions/pics/feedback? Just out of interest and starting a thread without Naish or PSH in it......damn it does that still count?

Hi Kagey,

I have seen one when we ran OG13 and I have tried to get a demo several times with no luck.

The only perosn I know who has ridden one is Casso andrew Cassidy. PM Casso and ask him he did a gear review on them.

This is the link: www.seabreeze.com.au/forums/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=48699

Newcastle SUP is the Australian Distributor I think and Simon would definitely be able to answer your questions.

I will be demoing one in the States later this year or early next year.

Best I can do.

Regards

Phill.

Cheers guys,

Yeah I looked at Newcastle SUP site to check prices out as they are due to arrive here any week. I quite like the look of the 10' for a bit more glide than a shorter board. I'm just keen to see what anyone else makes/made of it..or the 9'6" for that matter as it looks an awesome board but as always i'm interested to see what weight riders are using the various dimensions/vols etc.

There is some interesting stuff about the new sv range on standuppaddlesurf.net but I thought i'd just see if anyone over your way has given them a go?.

Hey Kagey, I have now had a handful of outings on a borrowed 9.3 Sub Vector. We have been doing a bit of an experiment to see how the big beasty would go with my 75kg on it - seeing as the board was kinda aimed at at person perhaps over 90+++ kg. I must qualify that as yet I have only had it in maybe knee high surf but lots of time in the flat and choppy estuary opening - assessing stability.
This really hurts me to say this - but up until I tried this board the most fun production board I had ever paddled was my 9.0 Starboard Extremist !! What I loved about my starby is that it is small and nimble and turns on a dime both in the surf and in the flat and is easy on my old body in that nothing takes any effort to do. OH MY GOD - The sub vector also does all this but the bloody thing paddles like an 10.0 +board - It flies and it's only 9.3 !! With someone on this board who was maybe 85kg to 95kg (100+ with experiance) this thing would be amazing and I would not hesitate in putting a day one beginner on this board if they were, say, up to 75+kg !!
The board just feels so good under my feet and with the big wide tail and nice subtle rocker it just spins around so easy with very little or no step back needed for a kick turn. I have personally been riding it as a 2 + 1 fin set up because I do not like quads although I wouldn't mind having a crack with the quad set up in some decent waves just to compare. I am also going to try the new 9.6 Sub vector and I will be very suprised if I don't have one of these boards sitting next to my Laguna Bay in the garage in the next month or so.
