Hey Everyone!
For the past week (Tuesday-Monday) I was either going to, going home from or in Merimbula for the Mambo comp. I surfed my absolute guts out and came 3rd in the womens division Well done to JB Mel (2nd) and AlleyCat (1st), and if that wasn't enough I got given a brand new Naish 7'9, for being "up & coming talent"
So there are a few people I wanted to thank:
Firstly Dad, Rich and Revin Kevin for taking me up there, carting my board on and off the roof, to and from the beach, getting me up at 5.30 in the morning and for just putting up with my craziness in the first place!
Dave Boyd for making me my board, I love it to pieces, and I couldn't have come this far without it!
All the guys and girls off seabreeze who supported me and were calling me on too waves etc.
John Smythe for running such an amazing comp for the last 29 years.
The guys at Naish for lending me the 8'0 it certainly helped me alot.
DJ for running that down winder it was an amazing experience and I plan on doing another one.
The guys at the BBQ you guys are legends! Go surfing at 5.30 don't come back in til like 9.00 and they hand you a bacon and egg burger!
The staff at the Pambula Golf club, for maikng me that amazing whilst also ginormous pav for my birthday.
Rich's "Old Mate" for dropping in on everyone, everyday!
And anyone else i've forgotten i'm so sorry, just tell me and I'll add you on

Mambo has been one of the best, yet most physically draining experiances of my life, it helped me so much with my SUPing and I'm definately coming back again next year!

Cheers
Kristi

Cheers Kristi..

You can see why they don't need to advertise this event because word of mouth is enough alone.. and you can also see why I have come back for 29 years in a row..

Next year will be a biggie for sure.

You deserve a big pat on the back for not only surviving the down winder but making it look pretty easy.. The guys up at Merimbula bar have got no idea how big and rough it gets down towards Pambula on a strong nor-easter.

Last year we only had two doing it and this year it was seven.. Next year we should double that..

Hey DJ,

The downwinder was a very humbling experience, the amount of skill and fitness you guys have to succeed in those conditions is mind blowing.

I was pleased just to finish.

Well done Kristi,

You totally deserve the 7'9 mana. Can't wait to see you all there again next year for the 30th! I hear a rumour that it's formal attire.
