This one will be only 7'9" x 33"

Interesting shape.. It's great to see Naish being innovative and not just following trends.

Interesting dimensions. I suspect many of the manufacturers will develop short wide boards that are suitable to a wider range of abilities out in the surf.
Have you ordered yours Dave?

No.. I have this sweet little 9'er that suits me just fine..

I'm glad Naish didn't go with the big square tail on that new 7'9".. It looks like it should surf well.

Woo hoo! My favourite shortboard is my 5'10" Skipp Fry Fish - so much fun in all kinds of conditions. I reckon the new Naish 7'9" will be just like that.

Yeah looks like it might be my windy day fun board, as soon as i seen this a little while ago i knew i would want one. There is a Naish hibrid surf board in there range which i loved it was a 6'6 Mal nose short board tail and this 7'9 looks like its big brother. Can't wait!!!!

I just did a quick calculation and the volume comes out at about 150 litres. Maybe a bit under because of the narrow tail.

That's based on 70% of length x width x depth which is consistent with the 9'5" and the 10'.

Thanks Gorgo! That would actually be 10L more than my 9'6 WAA............I know it is all about how the displacement is distributed, but that would be whack if it was 7'9 and would float the Buddha belly.

look's good. has a wider nose and wider overall than the sb 7'2 which i believe would be the go and a little more lenght. i would like to see the rocker, hope it has some lift at the front, works really well surfing on the sb, but a bit deadly paddling out through waves

I'm luvin my Naish 8'0 in clean and semi chop, only talking to a few boys yesterday about getting a board the same dimensions only with a round nose for chop. Might have to steel jackos when he gets his.

Hopefully it'll be a bit lighter than the 9'5" Mana... which came in at 12 kgs +/- 0.25kgs on my bathroom scales

That's Kai Lenny at the Noosa FOS. He is riding an 7'6" (or 8' i think he had both) Naish Hybrid surfboard there. The year before he was riding the 6'6" as mentioned by Jacko earlier. Helps being 35kg dripping wet.

Naish have done lot's of hybrid board shapes like this (short and wide) and they have been awesome to ride, Looking forward to testing this new puppy out.

Well Allrounder when is the 7'9 Demo going to be in Melbourne?

I would be happy to crawl out into the line up to get a few close up pics of that one in play.

I have ridden the 7.2 Starboard so it will be very interesting to compare the 2.

The super short boards bring a 3rd dimension into play that will surprise a lot of people.

You end up with pitch roll and yaw to contend with and if it truely is 150l then it will be very interesing.

It will defo float my wide ass, just depends if you hand saddle and ride the bucking bronko, Bring it Yeeeeeeeeeeeeeee Haaaaaaaaaaaaaa

Cant wait to see and try the new sugar banana!

Phill

has quinny let anyone have a crack at the micro mana yet

or is he hogging it to himself before sending it north to be high-jacked on the highway at gun point by me and a band of pie eating towel heads before jacko gets his greazy mits on it and teaches it some bad habits
