Hi everyone.

I am hoping that you are able to give me some advice.

I am looking at purchasing a SUP board for myself. I have been looking at the NSP E2 boards in the 10'6" and the 11'0". I would also like my husband to be able to use it to. My weight is 85kg and his 100kg. The water is relatively flat in hervey bay as it is protected by fraser island. I also take my son one the SUP boards we hire from the local guru.

Please let me know if there are any brands that offer a more suitable type of board or any suggestions as to what would be best for me would be appreciated.

Regards,
Sarah

Hi smitsar
and welcome to the breeze
dont take any advice off me I'm only a SUP kook.
a good board for you and hubby would be a JP Australia fusion 10'2 plenty a Volume for hubby with a flatish rocker and about 31" wide (i think).
stable if the wind gets up and OK for a surf

Welcome to the Breeze Smitsar.
In my humble and underrated opinion and being that you are new to the SUP caper I would get something between 10'6" and 11'6" and 29" to 31" wide.
There are plenty of good brands on the market. Fanatic, Naish, Starboard, JP, NSP etc etc. these are all great boards and good quality. They have a broad variety of models and shapes.
The alternate if you are a newbie and not sure if SUP is a long term thing is to buy one of the cheaper brands such as Atlantis and others that you will see. But be warned whilst these boards are quite a lot cheaper you get what you pay for.
If I was buying a first board I would look in the Sale section of Seabreeze. There are heaps of boards around the dimensions you are after and most of them are good brands. They are generally for sale because the seller is stepping to the next level in boards.
Not sure who your supplier is up there, but you aren't too far from the Sunshine Coast and there are several reputable shops in Noosa, Maroochydore, Cotton Tree and Caloundra that can give you advice and have a good range of brands and craft.
Don't buy something that is too small for you and hubbie nor something that will be good when you get better or more skilled. Buy something that suits you now and upgrade as your skills improve.
Have fun.
ET.

Hey Smitsar,
Just been looking in the For Sales here.
There is the following in there:-
Naish Nalu - 11'4"
JP Cruiser - 11'4"
Fanatic Fly 10'6"
IMHO any of these would be a good fit for you.
Worth a look.

What have you been smoking Giz?
She has got a kid there with her and she talks about her 100kg husband.
I am not going there.
Merely trying to be helpful in my new guise.

IMO the 11' NSP would be perfect.. and if you can lift it on and off the roof of your car ok the 11'6'' would be even better.. Great boards.. Welcome.

Thank you everyone for your input.

I am not sure what that guy is on about...I don't think there is anything suss going on here... There are other women on here that have pics of themselves on a SUP and males posting constructive comments I don't feel it was anything inappropriate.

I am not too far from the Sunshine Coast area and will make my way down to look at the shops with suitable boards

Thank you for your input. So far I have tried the NSP boards and find them quite comfortable. I look forward to more input.

Not yet.. I think the only new 14' Glides are the GX models.. I've ordered the GS.
