UPDATE DUE TO MANY QUESTIONS REGARDING THE COST AND A WAY TO REDUCE ENTRY FEE:

Get a 10% discount on entry to the BOP and River races by entering 10 paddlers in one block and at the same time. SO either get a local paddle group together or even arrange 9 others on this site to enter at the same time and pay $135 each (ONE PAYMENT TWO BOP RACES) or $50 each for River Race ..... OR if you have 11 paddlers pay full price for the 10 and get the 11th paddler free ....

SO either get a group together ( in the same RACE ) or get on SEABREEZE and hustle 9 other paddlers ...

Prize Pool will look like this: 75% of fees go for prize pool 25% in administration, insurance, and trophies .. MORE ENTRIES = BIGGER PRIZE POOL.

The Prize Pool will be divided over two BOP races 1st=40% Prize Pool. 2nd=20% Prize Pool. 3rd=10% Prize Pool. First Female=15% Prize Pool. First over 40 15% prize pool.

An example for 30 fully paid up paddlers the POOL rounded off and Split over two races WOULD BE :

1st:$1350 2nd:$675 3rd:$350 .... First Woman: $500. 1st O/40 $500 ... AND YES IF YOUR AN OVER 40 FEMALE AND YOU BEAT ALL THE WOMEN AND O/40 MEN thats $1000.

But all in all its TWO BOP RACES, great trophies, bags (and draw prizes for amateurs)

Just to clarify that prize money is split between the 2 races. So if you win race 1 you receive $675 & win race 2 there is another $675 providing there are 30 full fee paying paddlers

• The start and finish line will be in front of the Cudgen SLSC
• Course: Competitors will start the race from a standing start in the sand, racing to turning buoy 1, then turn parallel to beach to turning buoy 2, head to the beach to turning buoy/flag 3 back through the surf to turning buoy 4, head to the beach to turning buoy/flag 5, back through the surf to turning buoy 6, then turn towards the shore where they will endure a dry sand beach finish with their paddle in hand.
