Anyone taken a SUP on Air Asia and what size/

took a 8'5 to bali on air asia 3 years ago, they were the only airline from Perth that would take boards over 8ft at the time, not sure if that changed.

I've flown with them ~10 times with a 9'2 (9'6 in its bag). Their published limit is 9'1 so probably wouldn't try too far over that. Never had any damage or dramas, including them driving 10 hours to deliver a board to a remote spot in Java when it didn't make our flight (came the next morning and couldn't really blame them as was a full flight including a stack of boards and kayaks).

no, out of Perth, they use Air Bus A320 from here and A330 from MEL so you should be ok although I guess the size of the plane doesn't always match what they will allow in. Jetstar and Virgin fly the same aircraft (A320) out of Perth and Virgin will take my boards where as Jetstar has a max of 190cm (6'3) and won't!
