I progressed from Allwave 9'6 to Allwave 8'10, then wanted more critical performance.
I had to go to the 9'6 Prowave, because the 9'1 was too small for me.
Even though the Prowave was much bigger, the stability was comparable to the 8'10 Allwave.
The Prowave had thick rails but far out performed the Allwave in bigger waves. Even in smaller waves I preferred it.
Awesome, thanks STC. I do like the Allwave 9"1' for a general all round board but if I take it out in bigger, more grunty stuff you can really feel the boxy rails not wanting to hang in there. So I was thinking a prowave of the same size, to take over in the more serious stuff. Will it actually dig in and not slide out?
I'm not too worried about all out performance as I have surfboard for that. But when there is a bit of swell on (where I am) the current starts to run and I'd rather deal with that on a sup.
