So let's get this right:

1. Practice (ie doing something more than once) will make you better at something.

2. If you want to buy something to put on your wrist other than a watch get something that donates the profits to a charity other than the "My Ferrari Ran Out of Gas" charity

Never bought one BUT. The closing line says it all. 'If you think it is good for you, then it is good for you'.

After doing some of my own placebo tests with a couple of identical watches with stick on PB Holograms a while back I concluded this was the case anyway. However I am a real believer in the power of the mind, to heal and to do. If you can convince or 'trick' your mind to think it can do something it usually can. The PB band for people that believe it 'tricks' their mind into having better balance etc.

Ask yourself the question: Would you pay $60 to feel better for a while? A massage costs $60-80 and lasts for an hour afterall. The real thing people are annoyed about is that someone else made a millionaire of themselves with it and they didn't.

If you can invent something that everyone wants & no one has yep you can make a lot of money even if the product dosn't work ( too funny & a great invention for the get rich quick scam inventor )

Couldn't agree more CMC. About 10 days ago I was introduced to a guy with late stages of Parkinson's Disease. His career as a musician was absolutely shot but he still chose to battle on and inspire others with his life story. I noticed he was wearing a Power Balance band. He told me he was also trying quite invasive Chinese acupuncture. I was certainly not about to tell him that they don't work, that he was wasting his money or that he was a fool or a sucker.

No. The real problem is that it is such a deliberate and obvious fraud. The whole thing is designed from scratch to steal money from the gullible.

There are no redeeming features. They don't say "Buy this trinket. It's a bit of harmless fun" They repeatedly and emphatically say "Buy this. It really works. Do not buy identical items at a cheaper price. They do not work."

The whole hologram/energy/frequency story and the test is a bit of ooga booga techo gibberish designed to confuse people. The makers deliberately and cynically put all that together to fuel the scam.

On a lighter note: A good friend of mine's missus said he is better in the sack wearing it. He has therefore been a bit luckier in that department lately.

Do you think he or she cares if the band is a deliberate fraudulent scam??

It obviously had no real merit from the beginning however peoples curiosity of the unknown and the vein hope that something other than sweat, hard work, pain and tears would make them better at something.

I know where you are coming from and like many other things that are simply not worth their money in any way it is only $60 if you pay full whack. Most people these days earn more than that in a hour, a round at many pubs is more than this, if it made someone feel better for a short period of time it was probably worth it.

As I say I didnt buy one and would have felt like a sucker if I did but for the people that got some kind of brain tricked placebo affect uplift I don't think too many of them would complain about being ripped off. They might say that $60 to have their mind think they had better strength and balance and possibly achieved things they couldnt before was worth it. The clever ones here will know that the band was a phony and they had added abilities all along and will convince themselves that they are capable of more than they thought especially now without it.

I am even for the rights of people that want to live in a world of Today Tonight expose the scammers mindset. Just do what makes you happy and if a bit of rubber with a shiny thing does that buy 10......

My two penneth worth; I think PT Woody's first comment and pretty much all of what CMC stated is spot on. So if you wear some sort of charm or garment that gives you that mental confidence you need to achieve whatever it is you are aiming for, good for you. So yes it has to work on SOME level (in the mind).

The marketing although could be described as preying on the vulnerable or gullible, perhaps could also be described as cementing that belief in those that use the product to their benefit and not financial detriment. So I guess its whatever gives you that belief and what you're prepared to pay for it?

BTW haven't bought one and won't either but like the power that placebo's have. I've heard of a number of medical trials bringing up remarkable results using them...placebo's not power bands lol.

For $30? I'd say mainstream medicine and big pharma has done a lot more preying. All this guy is doing is praying.

I heard the story recently about Peter Brock and his HDT "Energy Enhancer" (or whaterever it was called) that he fitted to his HDT Holdens. Some Guru sold the idea to him and he started putting them in to his pimped up Holdens...

And then Holden revoked his right to HDT because it was too "out there".

And only today someone told me that this product has been proven to "enhance" a cars performance...

Anyway - a grt story and don't know how much is truth or myth..

Any comments?

Yes it was called the Energy Polariser, it was crystal based and Brock lost his HDT empire when GM in the States told him he could not claim that the product improved performance of the road cars as such claims could be challenged in court. Basically it came down to an insurance issue. GM withdrew support for HDT as a car manufacturer under the GM banner. So that meant Brock didn't get the base cars for souping up and he wasn't able to sell cars with multi year warranty.

Not to mention his huge loss of credibility, don't think he ever recovered from that.

Any evidence to support their claims? Just think how well a car must go if you use an Energy Polariser along with Firepower pills ...

What a load of horse sh!t. Av gas is the only thing aditive that will make a car go faster with no mods. Even then you will need to adjust the timing (in an old car)

Ok so who has one? I'd like to put one on my Peoples Republic Of China board - and test it out!

And while I'm there I can also attach one to my paddle to make it paddle faster...

Can some one send me one please...

ah ah... avgas is not the only additive, there's many more. There's a few things you could do with tyres that don't require a mod either and by sealing a car better there's some extra kph there too... anyway that's not quite the topic...
