Had a couple of surfs on the 8'10" in small stuff and have found it clearly looser and faster than the 9'3" or anything else I've paddled. No decent surf lately so I can't comment on how it hold in as the surf builds but so far I'm wrapped. Paddles on to waves much easier than you'd think so you don't have to sit with the shortboarders.

Paddled the 8'0" today and at 82kg she floats as long as you're moving forward. Stop for a bit and she starts going under. In smooth water ie/ no wind and chop it would be possible to catch waves but those conditions aren't the norm in Sydney so not much point in having one for me. In saying that though the demo one might be in the car a bit just in case.

JB at 95kg paddled both the above boards this morning and also thought the 8'10" would replace the 9'3" for him even at his weight. He got the 8'0" moving but it took some work to keep it floating. He got it moving from the beach with a running start and paddled like a demon just to keep it at shin depth. Didn't swap sides, did 2 360's and claimed it as paddled.

If you were 70kg or less you'll love it but it won't be easy.

Sam.

Hi Sam
Have you paddled the 9'4 Jimmy? Who much harder would you say the 8'10 Naish was to stand on. Thanks

Nice. That's what we're talking about!

Can't wait until my shoulder heals up a bit more - you can imagine my frustration at not being able to go for a paddle on these little beauties.

Hey Sam,

Hows does it compare to the other boards you have tested, does it have good drive and how does it go turning rail to rail.

Cass they are beauties indeed.... you didnt miss much this morning though.... no waves at palmy (very fat, windy and hardly broke) but was good testing the 10ft mana and the 9'6 (didnt quite float me )... Get well soon so you can teach me that wicked tail slide of yours!!

8'10:

Sam is pretty much on the money with this board, I'll try to add a bit more as i had a pretty good session on it this arvo. Yes it is loser and faster than the 9'3 slightly less stable and yes you would find this board hard to learn on if you could learn on it at all maybe a lightweight might get away with it!! FIRST board i can truly say that you can go from rail to rail on and feel in control. This is a board that is meant to be riddin in the pocket of the wave and not on the shoulder. This board will suit some one looking fro the short board SUP if you want to ride the nose then this is not the board. This board is fast and snappy and will love a bit of power. Weight range for this board will be from light weights to 90 odd kg if you have good balance.

More to come but just want to ride it some more first and compare to the 8'0.

Have also riddin the 9'4 JL and its all good on this board from the probably the best finish to a great surfer but would like to spend another session on it first before reviewing. But the board speaks for it self with one person demoing it and buying it on the spot. I will try and get him to do a review!!.

Cheers for now Jacko

SHQ need to put one into demo. I would imagine it would be a higher performer than any production PSH
but they are yet to release their full new range.

I have only surfed the Naish 9'3" once in good waves and that was awesome so can only imagine how
the 8'10" would go.

Had a quick session on this board in small slightly lumpy waves on saturday morning and I think its definately a board for me. Usually surf the 9'3" Naish and this board is everything I love about the 9'3" and more. At 83kg, I was surprised at how easily it floated me, its faster and looser and carves really well - true shortboard performance in a SUP. Can't wait to get it out in some nice clean surf.

Looks like the 9'3" will be going to make room in the quiver for this baby.

Hey Sam,

Gareth: Rail to rail is quicker than anything I've paddled with more drive and grip than anything I've paddled. Still surf hasn't got over chest high yet so I'll get back to you when the waves have more ooomph to them. So far though you can commit super hard to turns with a really positive bite.

Surfrod: Still haven't paddled our demo 9'4". Too little time for too many boards. Stability wise there may not be as much in it as you think as the rails on the 8'10" have a little fullness in them which is helping with the stability a fair bit I'd guess.

Sam

From what i see the Mactavish will kill the Naish nana.

But nothing will compare to the PSH lover of mine.

I will add to this, Now i understand at 150 litres of the mactavish the people spoke of it being a boat and corky.

So how on earth can you convince that 190 is not corky.

It seem like one fat wide boat.

I dont care for naish and i would never buy one. I just dont like them.

I fell in love with psh from day one and will never change.

Im just interested in why or how can 190litres work esp for the light weight range they state.

Not bagging any board at all, Its just im unclear on what it is and how on earth it can be anything but a fat wide barge at 190litres

Nothing againt the board i just would not buy naish.

It was the brezzers talking corky boards i.e the mactavish

And i am just asking why all the possitive info on the naish mana if its 190l

Which would make it far more corky.

Just a question realy. I see its good but WHY HOW etc

BP.... i think naish have got the 190L wrong... whopper floats me better than the 9'5 mana... and the whopper is 168L.... you should try before bagging...

I don't care for Naish I would never buy one.
and It seems like one fat boat.

I would not buy one, I dont like naish yea sure thats true

But why cant i ask a simple question on litres.

Boat... well come on at 190 litres if this is true what else can you say.

The comments on the mactavish that kagey was keen on said it is fat and a boat.

So why is the naish so much better at 190L

Its a question. Gezzz man

Youm may not know the answear eh' if you insist on worring about what i am saying. try making a answear.

I have no feelings towards naish as stated but this threed is popular so i want to know what make the board so good and tick.

Is this ok with you??

With all the red thumbs im not even going to bother with it.

It was a question, No bagging unless you call me saying i would not buy the banana boat as i just dont like to look at them. And at 190 L are you telling me it aint a boat.

I mean those litres have to be spread somewhere.

But i do like the naish glide for change, but would not buy one.
